My MIL recently left me this delightful comment:
I’m delighted by what you choose to write about – books, Oliver, your home, the state of the world, the state of your garden, family outings, etc. The variety provide such a fun surprise. I will keep reading no matter how you set up the blog. Just promise to keep writing! Your blog is such a wonderful window into your world without my having to be a nosey mother-in-law.
It has inspired this post!
Books The book I am currently reading (or rather re-reading) is Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, I picked it up back in Boston when I was averaging a mass-market paperback a day temping and commuting. I may have blogged about it before, I was going to do link to it but I can’t seem to find the entry and as it is just after 11 pm I can’t really be bothered.
Oliver Oliver is currently asleep, he had an early night after he over-rotated on the Harvard Chair and bashed his forehead into the windowsill. After calming down, he attempted to repeat this stunt, the second time we stopped him. His forehead now has an impressive bruise and welt, don’t worry, he’s fine.
My Home On the home front, we are still on the look out for reasonably priced flush mount/short drop/aesthetically pleasing ceiling fans. We thought we had found the perfect one for our office, until we read the online reviews. It does not seem to move any air and it is difficult to balance. We don’t have AC so fans that work well are necessary, the search continues.
The Garden The front garden is getting weedy. I really should do something about that. I also need to find the under drive-way irrigation tubing so I can work on getting an irrigation/sprinkler system installed so I don’t have to remember to water everyday.
Family Outings The family went to the Santa Rosa Mall earlier so I could find cute shoes. What a fun Family Outing!
And yes, dear MIL, I will keep writing, but not tonight.
Update Gavin has pointed out that I missed out on the State of the World, I can’t say I’ve paid much attention to it recently, although know LW has sent me several links about the Oil Spill in the Gulf and how it has impacted birds, and World Cup soccer fans have those really obnoxious horns, and soccer games are best watched in German, on replay so I can skip the dull bits in the middle.
