P at 11 months

*photo coming eventually*

After 11 months of waiting, Patrick finally has a tooth. He won’t show it to you, but if you’re unlucky enough for him to suck on your chin you’re in for a VERY sharp surprise.

update: 4/27/12, now with photo!

Baby P hits the big 1-0 (months)

Patrick is 10 months old today.

He enjoys pulling himself up, crawling, cruising along the furniture, bouncing in his door bouncer, and climbing on people. His favorite foods include pureed peas with creamed spinach, apple sauce, local organic goat milk yogurt (full fat vanilla), Bolognese sauce, butter crackers, and bananas.

He naps most days, sleeps some nights, and is ready to charge head-first into whatever action there might be. He can usually be found cruising the living room tables, sofa, and getting into Big Brother’s stuff.

P at 9 months

We lowered P’s crib last Saturday before we left for Monterey.

Today, 9 months after P’s arrival, is the first chance I’ve had to document the momentous occasion. The future is pulling himself up and trying to escape his crib.

Hopefully he holds off on full-blown escape attempts for a few more months.

7 Months with Patrick

It is Christmas Eve and Patrick is seven months old.

Patrick is in the “you’re not where I left you” phase. When I put him down on the floor gym to check laundry, I come back and find him across the room getting into something.

P is quite the roller/scooter/wiggler; he enjoys scooting backwards until he is under the sofa up to his arms, he also likes rolling under the train table, and backward underneath the Harvard chair. He also likes to roll to the bookcase and pull toys off. He has made me re-evaluate the bottom shelf toys – they have to be light enough not to cause too much damage when he pulls them down on his head.

Thankfully, P is a sturdy little fellow and is holding up quite nicely to everything that he’s pulled down on himself, and that Big Brother O leaves out for P to “explore.”

P-cakes at 4 months

Patrick is four months old today. He’s closing in rapidly on 16 lbs, and growing through the bins of Oliver’s old baby clothing at an alarming rate. He is also super-adorably cute, with a toothless gummy grin and infectiously catchy giggle.

Favorite past times include gnawing on Sophie, trying to stand (with assistance), trying to sit up (propped), chewing on his fingers/onesie/someone else’s fingers/anything he can get to his mouth, reaching and grabbing for things to put in his mouth, watching Big Brother, rolling back-to-front (and getting stuck), bouncing in his door bouncer, going for walks in the ergo or stroller, playing on his floor gym, and napping.

P Baby at 2 months

Patrick has been very busy. So far, he has out grown all of his newborn clothing, has made a big dent in the pile of three-month sized clothing, and is working his way into some of the six-month sized outfits. He has also outgrown his Moses basket.

What is new about Baby P at 2 months? He has drastically improved head control: he can now aim for your face more efficiently when he swings his head around as he wiggles in your arms. He sleeps, he was sleeping before, but he’s sleeping better now (4-5 hours in a row). He weighs a ton, not literally, but he’s almost doubled his birth weight and is now a whopping 12+ pounds (assuming our bathroom scale is right).

Baby P still punches himself in the face when he gets upset, thankfully, he’s got well padded fingers.
