This afternoon Oliver, Gavin and I went pumpkin picking at Muelrath Ranches (they had signs up, the other place didn’t).

Oliver and I had never been pumpkin picking before, and I suspect I was more excited than he was by it all. We didn’t go out into the pumpkin patch, but we did explore the neat rows of harvested pumpkins for the best one (or two…) to take home.

Oliver had a great time “patting” the pumpkins gently to make sure they were just right, and using them for stabilization.

In the end we decided on two mid-size pumpkins, three mini-pumpkins and a funky shaped gourd.
